Kimberly Kupiecki is a Senior Director in the Sustainability & Energy Business Group at Ginkgo Bioworks. She is responsible for working with customers to develop sustainability applications leveraging Ginkgo’s horizontal synthetic biology platform including soil and water remediation, generating salable materials from waste and biosensing.

Prior to Ginkgo, Kupiecki was the Director and Global Leader of Sustainability, Advocacy and Communications for Dupont Water Solutions. In this role, she was responsible for developing and implementing sustainability and advocacy programs to drive business growth. She was also responsible for developing the sustainability strategy and achieving sustainability goals for the business.

Kimberly serves on the board of Great River Greening, a Minnesota-based nonprofit focused on land and water remediation across the state. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Brave Blue World Foundation, is a member of the Minnesota Women’s Economic Roundtable and was voted in the Top100 People to Watch in 2023 by Twin Cities Business Magazine.

Prior to joining Dow and DuPont in 2012, Kupiecki served as Senior Vice President and group leader for the Clean Technology public relations practice at Edelman, the largest independent global public relations consulting firm. She has more than 20 years of combined work experience in sustainability, communications and engineering at companies such as Waste Management, Applied Materials, Edelman, Dow, DuPont and Ginkgo Bioworks. She holds patents in Adaptive Temperature Controls and has been published within the clean technology industry. And, she has a successful record counseling a variety of venture-backed startups, mid-sized companies and other large global private and public companies.

Kupiecki earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and Master of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business.
