Jeff Montanye is Vice President of the Global Technology Partnership and Global Knowledge Sharing groups at Ecolab. Ecolab has embarked on an ambitious open innovation initiative designed to increase the value of external technology in its new product pipeline. Jeff is responsible for leading this group whose goal is to bring in new and disruptive technologies that enable core applications and create adjacencies. His team is composed of senior business managers and technical team members who interface with the global growth, divisional management, corporate development, and strategic supplier management teams. The team uses a variety of Open Innovation methodologies to identify and validate technologies that enable or accelerate divisional technology strategies.
Jeff’s previous role was the Vice President of the RD&E North America Food & Beverage Division. In this role, Jeff was responsible for leading the organization to meet the business growth, operation goals, and drive the technology road map for the division.
Prior to joining Ecolab, Jeff spent 22 years with The Dow Chemical Company. He held a number of R&D leadership roles in both North America and Singapore, most recently as the Director for Exploration and Growth in the Basic Plastics business. Jeff received his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his Masters from Texas A&M University. He is a graduate of Thunderbird International Consortium: Leadership in Global Enterprises, IMD: Innovation of New Products, “Driving Innovation and Entrepreneurship, as well as the HH Dow Academy.
