BlueTech Forum’s third session “Intrapreneurship & In-House Innovation” will address the shift of innovation in the water industry from entrepreneurial start-ups to larger organizations. This idea of “intrapreneurship” shows the changing approach of large water tech companies, corporations, and water utilities in reference to R&D and innovation within a complex organization.
Traditionally, the generation of water technology innovation is associated with start-ups as opposed to larger water tech companies where innovation suffered due to separation from market realities and lack of a clear return on investment strategy. However, with the emergence of intrapreneurship and in-house innovation, new products and technologies are resulting from a change within the corporations, allowing for internal projects to develop and become successful.
This panel of innovators from leading international water technology firms and corporations will explore the advantages and disadvantages of working from within to create change while presenting case studies of intrapreneurialism and in-house innovation. Fei Chen, Innovation Platform Director at Grundfos, will moderate this panel, with confirmed speakers including Jonathan Clement, CEO of PWN Technologies, and Paul Bowen, Director of Sustainability at Coca-Cola.
