Jos H.J. Pâques is the founder and major shareholder of Paques Holding B.V. Previously, Jos was President of the company from 1973 to 2002, after which he joined the supervisory board of Paques and became Director of External Affairs. In this capacity, he leads several special projects and participates in the activities of Paques in China.
Jos is an entrepreneur with a strong market orientation and a good sense of potential market opportunities. His company, Paques, develops and produces high-quality, cost-effective purification systems for water, gases, and air using innovative biotechnology and has a worldwide network of carefully selected licensees and partners. Through its subsidiaries in Shanghai (China), Piracicaba (Brazil) and Mississauga (Canada), Paques is active in all major markets in the world.
In January 2012, Jos Pâques received an honorary doctorate from the Delft University of Technology. Besides his position at Paques, Jos Pâques is active in numerous other Dutch companies, including (but not limited to): Member of the supervisory boards for Royal De Kuyper B.V., Douma Staal Sneek , and University Campus Fryslân; member of the advisory board of World Waternet and Stichting Friesche Compagnie; chairman for Water Recreation Company Heeg and Centre Management Sneek; member of the executive board of The Salvage Tugboat Holland Foundation; and member of the Netherlands Academy of Technology and Innovation.
