Ph.D. Process Analytical Technology
My main research area is food technology. Within this area, I have experience in brewing science, food safety, multivariate data analysis and spectroscopy. Both my education and work experience have given me the opportunity to acquire skills that can be used in developing industrial strategies to achieve reduced water consumption.
I was born in Romania where I also obtained my B.Sc. Degree in Food Quality Control. Shortly after my graduation in 2011, I moved to Copenhagen and here I conducted both my M.Sc. and Ph.D. at University of Copenhagen. In my Ph.D. project, I had the opportunity to work with a couple of examples of water reuse scenarios within dairy and meat industry and looked into alternative ways to monitor/ detect rapidly the biofouling tendency of equipment when cleaning with reclaimed water. As a consequence, I dealt and acquired practical experience with different spectroscopic methods and multivariate data analysis. From August 2018, by joining the Carlsberg Young Scientist community, I continue focusing on finding opportunities to minimize the water footprint, this time applied for the brewing process.
