Innovation Pavilion
The WEFTEC 2014 Innovation Pavilion will feature cutting-edge products and services brought to you by BlueTech Research and our innovation partners, Imagine H20 and WEF. Featured exhibitors include finalists and winners of the Imagine H2O Water Innovation Prize and the 2014 BlueTech Awards.
The Innovation Row next to the WEF Innovation Pavilion includes the Wisconsin Innovation Pavilion, with the entrepreneurs from Milwaukee’s The Water Council’s BREW Accelerator exhibiting. The Showcase also features GNO Inc., highlighting the winners of the New Orleans Water Challenge, the Water Environment Research Foundation, and Kore Infrastructure (2012 EPA Green Chemistry winner).
Featured BlueTech Exhibitors:
Anaergia Inc. is a global leader in offering sustainable solutions for the generation of renewable energy and the conversion of wastewater sludge and waste to resources. Through a proven portfolio of proprietary technological solutions, Anaergia maximizes the generation of renewable energy, diversion of waste from landfill and reduction of greenhouse gases for customers across the municipal, industrial, commercial and agricultural sectors, at over 1,600 operations globally.
Cerahelix, Inc. is developing a patented ceramic nanofiltration membrane (helix-NFM™) that provides high purity separations under harsh operating conditions. The helix-NFM is a hydrophilic ceramic membrane that operates in the tight nanofiltration/reverse osmosis range. This ceramic filter is able to remove dissolved contaminants from water with less fouling and compatibility issues compared to organic polymer filters, and at lower energy and space requirements compared to traditional separation technologies.
OxyMem, a rising Irish company, has commercialized an innovative solution for wastewater treatment – the Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactor (MABR). The OxyMem MABR is a bubbleless aeration system that reduces the biggest consumable of the wastewater industry – energy. Using gas permeable membrane technology, oxygen is delivered directly to pollutant degrading microorganisms, eliminating the need for bubbles and reducing the energy burden. The OxyMem MABR is changing the way we treat wastewater with this dynamic and efficient solution.
Puralytics, a water purification equipment company headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, has developed a patent pending photochemical water purification process using only light energy either from LEDs or sunlight to activate an advanced nanotechnology coated mesh. Water is purified through five simultaneous photochemical reactions, breaking down chemical compounds (such as petrochemicals, pesticides, and pharmaceuticals), reducing and removing heavy metals (like arsenic, lead, and mercury), and sterilizing bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. There are no chemical additives and 100% of the water is purified. Puralytics’ Shield and SolarBag products set new standards for sustainability, ease of use and cost effectiveness.
