Dick Zwartveld works as a Product Manager at Priva, a company that focuses on the production of healthy, high-quality food and ornamental plant crops in open field and greenhouses with minimal use of natural resources, such as energy and water.
After earning an education in electronics and information technology, Dick worked for several years as a military technician for the Dutch Air force. In 1978, after several years serving as an advisor and engineer in the building automation and weighing industries, Dick joined Priva. In a small team, Dick contributed to the development of Priva’s first generation of greenhouse computer systems.
In 1993, Dick joined Priva’s Product Management department, concentrating on water solutions, water treatment, and sustainable greenhouse technology. For the past five years, Dick has cooperated in practical research focused on adapting agricultural systems to become more water sustainable.
