Dr Zhiguo Yuan is professor in environmental engineering, and Deputy Director of the Advanced Water Management Centre at The University of Queensland.
His research focuses on innovative biotechnologies for wastewater management, including corrosion and odour control in sewer networks, greenhouse gas emission from urban water cycles, and biological nutrient removal from wastewater.
His research has attracted over $20m funding in the past 10 years.
He has to date published three books and over 160 journal papers, and presented at numerous international conferences. His publications have to date attracted over 3000 citations. His h-index is currently 33.
His research has led to the establishment of two spin-off companies under UniQuest, the commercial arm of The University of Queensland.
Prof Yuan is currently playing a leadership role in several Specialist Groups in the International Water Association. In 2010, he was appointed one of the 34 inaugural IWA Fellows. He is a senior editor of the IWA journal of Water Science and Technology.
