John McArdle, Senior Market Manager coordinates Battelle’s activities in water and wastewater technologies.  Since joining Battelle in 2008, McArdle has worked across the Battelle organization on the development and implementation of Battelle’s water strategy.  This includes internal R&D investments, IP management, technology licensing and contract research. McArdle is currently involved with projects in advanced membrane materials, environmentally friendly disinfectants, novel nutrient (phosphorus and nitrogen) recovery processes and treatment of wastewater in the mining and oil and gas industry, including hydraulic fracturing flow back water, produced water and acid mine drainage.

McArdle has over twenty five years of experience in the development and commercialization of a variety of water and wastewater treatment technologies. He is a recognized expert in membrane filtration including low pressure and high pressure membrane operations. He has worked closely with consulting engineers, system integrators, regulators and water system operators to identify and implement water and wastewater treatment solutions in a variety of municipal and industrial projects. He has a B.E. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Manhattan College, M.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University, and M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Prior to Battelle, McArdle worked for Koch Membranes Systems Inc., as Director of Business Development and Business Manager for Industrial Water.  In these positions McArdle was responsible for the commercialization of membrane filtration technologies in several water and wastewater treatment applications. McArdle was also closely associated with the introduction of membrane filtration technology into the very rapidly growing water and wastewater treatment markets of China and India.  Previously, McArdle worked for Allied Signal Inc, AQUATECH SYSTEMS and UOP Inc., Process Division in various technical and commercial management positions.
