Geoff is the Chief Financial Officer of Upwell Water and Chair of the firm’s Executive Capital & Investment Committee. Upwell Water is a leading technology-enabled water resource and infrastructure company, which owns operating and new-build water assets, from supply to treatment and efficient use, deploying $1 billion near term in partnership with leading industry operators. Geoff was previously a Partner, Head of Research and Head of Global Financial Institutions Investing at GoldenTree Asset Management, a $46 billion AUM alternative asset manager, in New York and London.

Prior to GoldenTree, Geoff enjoyed an 18-year career at Goldman Sachs, where he was a Managing Director and Co-Head of Multi-Strategy Investing within the Special Situations Group (SSG) from 2009-2017, leading the group’s efforts investing in tradeable bank debt, high yield bonds, and public equities. SSG was the firm’s main proprietary investing platform, managing over $25 billion globally. There, Geoff was a member of the Americas SSG Investment Committee and the Goldman Sachs Securities Division Risk Committee.

He has served on the board of several companies, including Hamburg Commercial Bank, J.W. Aluminum, Flatiron Reinsurance, and Spectrum 700; and currently serves as Advisory Board member for Kilonova Capital LLC, and Above Data, Inc. Geoff graduated from Princeton University with a B.S.E. in Civil Engineering & Operations Research, where he was also captain of the varsity rowing team.
