Alan Shapiro is the Director of waterNEXT, Canada’s water technology network. A strategic initiative of Foresight Canada, waterNEXT brings together stakeholders from across the water innovation ecosystem to accelerate the commercialization and adoption of technologies for the world’s most pressing water challenges. Alan teaches in the School of Business at British Columbia Institute of Technology and serves on the board of Water for People Canada. He holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering from Columbia University and a BSc in Environmental Earth Sciences from the University of Alberta.
