Dr. Greg Newbloom is the founder and CEO of Membrion, a start-up company focused on lowering the cost of water desalination through novel membrane technologies. In 4 short years, Greg has brought his innovation from idea to commercial product while building a 9-person team and raising nearly $10M along the way. Greg’s work has resulted in 5 awarded and 23 pending patents and 6 first author peer-reviewed publications (220+ citations). His leadership has been recognized with 40 under 40 and Innovator of the Year awards from the Puget Sound Business Journal and a prestigious Diamond Engineering Alumni Award from the University of Washington. When not try to solve some of the world’s most pressing problems, Greg enjoys playing with his Boston Terriers and trying to beat his friends in strategy board games.
