Nijhuis Electro Osmosis (NEO) solution – ‘Innovation Showcase’ at BlueTech Forum 2019
At BlueTech Forum 2019, Nijhuis will showcase the Electro Osmosis solution (NEO). The NEO is a cost-saving and energy efficient sludge management solution by dewatering sludge up to 40-50% dry solids.
Typically, sludge is dewatered up to 15-25% dry solids with mechanical dehydrators, such as a decanter or a screw press. To further treat the cake (15-25% dry solids / 75-85% water content), an external energy inefficient system is typically required to dehydrate the cake for final disposal and transportation. However, by integrating the NEO after the existing dewatering system, the volume of the dry cake can be reduced up to 50% and use 40% less energy compared to other advanced dehydration systems.
