Siemens Energy’s Zimpro Electro Oxidation (ZEO) technology uses high-purity, solid polycrystalline boron-doped diamond electrodes to generate highly reactive hydroxyl radicals as an oxidizing agent from the water molecules in the process stream. These radicals can destroy various pollutants and micropollutants including short-chain PFAS compounds. The semi-batch ZEO process requires only electricity, cooling water, and instrument air for operation. ZEO can be deployed with Siemens Energy’s PACT (Powdered Activated Carbon Treatment) technology to remove and destroy PFAS in both drinking and industrial process (waste)water.
