Vivian Drake is one of the original founding members of Drake Water Technologies, Inc. (2006) and currently holds the position of COO. In addition to management of day to day operations for Drake Water, she has extensive project management, litigation support, and regulatory permitting experience. She holds a B.S. in civil engineering from San Diego State University, a M.S. in hydrogeological engineering from Montana Tech, and in 2005 received a second M.S. degree from Montana State University in land resources and environmental sciences.
Vivian helped establish and subsequently administered Montana’s first Water Quality Protection District in Lewis & Clark County for nine years, leaving in 1999 to work with Ron Drake, Drake Water’s President and CEO. During her tenure as District Administrator, she received the “Award for Distinguished Service” from the Montana Environmental Health Association, and the “Award for Leadership in the Water Professions” from the Montana Section of the American Water Works Association Minorities’/Women’s Affairs Committee.
Vivian chaired the 1999 National American Water Resources Association Conference, “Science into Policy: Water in the Public Realm and Wildland Hydrology”. She was a candidate for the Montana State Legislature in 2002. Vivian also works as a private consultant in the area of groundwater science with focus on groundwater contamination and water rights. Vivian and Ron celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in August, 2010.
