EloVac®-P is a system for phosphorus removal where the digested sludge is degassed prior dewatering and the phosphorus is precipitated in the vacuum reactor tank remaining as micro crystals in the sludge after dewatering. EloVac®-P is a very simple retrofit for any plant offering several operational benefits, which include the reduction of the phosphorous return load to the headworks of the plant, up to 3%-points improvement in dewatering and the prevention of diffuse methane emissions from digested sludge improving the carbon footprint of the treatment plant.
