Dr. Dirk Brusis is investment manager at SKion GmbH, the investment company of German entrepreneur Susanne Klatten (an anchor shareholder of BMW, SKion’s main holdings being Altana, SGL Carbon, Nordex, Avista Oil and in the water sector Ovivo, Eliquo Water Group, EnviroChemie, Paques, Evodos, MattenPlant and Miranda) where he is mainly responsible for investments in the water sector. On behalf of SKion, he is also managing director or board member of some of SKion’s water portfolio companies.

Dr. Brusis graduated as chemical engineer from the Technical University of Munich and worked after finishing his PhD (Technical University of Munich, Carnegie Mellon University) as management consultant in the fields of product development and innovation management for TOP 100 customers in Europe. Afterwards he was head of R&D at a German pioneer in the design and construction of industrial biogas plants including gas upgrading modules. Prior to joining SKion, Dr. Brusis was managing director of an engineering/consulting firm with core expertise in designing decentralized plants for wastewater treatment with a strong focus on realizing innovative, integrated solutions for its customers. He was also advising European investment banks, private equity and venture capital companies on technology investments. His work in the water industry includes projects with industrial customers and utilities in Europe and South America.
