Naesta Holding at BlueTech Forum 2013: Investing in the Opportunities of the Water Sector

To build a successful business, a company must have a vision for the future, a strategy to compete and thrive within the business world. As a new entrant to the water industry, Menno Holterman provides the experience and dedication to find opportunities for his newest venture, Naesta, and ensure a vision for success. While Naesta is new to the water industry, Menno Holterman is not. Throughout his career, Menno has extensively travelled around the globe, increasing his knowledge of the global water and beverage industries and creating an extensive global network.

Menno began his career occupying several management positions within Heineken NV, after which he joined the Norit Group, where Menno was eventually appointed CEO of Norit Clean Process Technologies Holding in 2010. In this position, he successfully commercialized innovative and disruptive technologies, including ultrafiltration membranes.

In 2012, Menno started his newest venture, Naesta with business partner, Ronald Ruijtenberg, with whom he worked at Norit. Dedicated to developing water technology companies and focusing on the food-energy-water nexus, Naesta jointly invested with Egeria in one of the largest Dutch industrial wastewater treatment companies, Nijhuis Water Technology.

To ensure Naesta’s success in this competitive field, Menno comments, “We need to be entrepreneurial, smarter, faster, more flexible and more innovative. The water market requires a GLOBAL approach, at one hand global water standards and requirements, but every location around the world ultimately requires a local solution.”

Additionally, Naesta’s future vision for success stems from Menno’s experience at Norit. He assisted in the successful creation of a global operating company with a balanced portfolio. He states, “Based on our extensive experience in growing global companies, we will not change our desire to innovation and talent development. People -experienced, knowledgeable and highly motivated- are making the difference, that’s also why we decided to invest in Nijhuis Water Technology…” For future successful enterprises, Naesta and Egeria are not only looking for innovative start-ups, but also SME companies that want to reach the next level, decrease their time to market and increase their presence globally.

To hear more from Menno Holterman, founder of Naesta, come to the 2013 BlueTech Forum, where he will be featured in the “New Entrants to the Water Game” panel, along with other companies, including Fujifilm, Outotec and BASF. Arie Kluit, Technical Manager for Naesta’s investment company, Nijhuis Water Technology, will also be featured in the “Food and Beverage” showcase.

Syrinix specialises in the development and supply of highly sensitive automated monitoring solutions for pipelines, with an initial focus on the water sector. Syrinix’s permanently installed and highly sensitive TrunkMinder solution for the real time monitoring and managing of trunk mains is being used extensively across the Thames Water trunk main network. Syrinix has also recently launched its TransientMinder solution, applicable to all pipelines, for high resolution automated pressure transient detection, with extraneous data excluded. With complementary products in development, both for the water sector and beyond, Syrinix is transforming the market for permanently and semi-permanently installed pipeline monitoring solutions and leading the provision of “smart” solutions for utilities seeking to enhance the resilience of their supply networks through innovation rather than capital projects alone.
